Tesla tops the list of world’s most in-demand cars

According to research by the Peter Vardy Newsroom, Tesla is the most in-demand car brand in more countries than any other. Researchers analysed search data from people browsing for cars from 120 countries across the globe to arrive at the conclusion.

The California-based auto maker is the most sought-after car in China, Russia and much of Europe. Jeep sits in second place – beating Tesla in their home country of the USA, plus other large markets like Canada and Australia. Luxury carmakers such as Bugatti, Lamborghini and Mercedes also placed high in the list.

The World's Most In Demand Car Brands

Tesla’s popularity is likely due to the recent surge in demand for electric vehicles, with many countries around the world phasing out petrol & diesel cars in favour of low-emission EVs – and Tesla is arguably the world’s most recognisable electric car brand.

Established in 2003, Tesla is an American auto maker based in Palo Alto, California. As well as electric vehicles such as the Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y, the company also produces battery storage, solar panels, solar roof tiles and other renewable energy products. The CEO is Elon Musk, the often out-spoken and controversial entrepreneur.
